The UK honey bee, Apis Mellifera, is one of 270 types of bees in UK. If you have the time and commitment to keep bees in your garden or on your land then you would be supporting our honey bee pollinators. However it if you want to look after your bees responsibly you should attend a beekeeping theory course, then learn how to handle your bees safely before you make the decision to purchase bees or equipment.
We run a number of taster, theory and practical courses to help you every step of the way.
If you are interested but want to find out more before you sign up for a full course, we offer a ‘Bee Taster Day’ in June. You won’t be tasting bees! but you will have an introduction to bee theory, followed by lunch and then a trip to our Training Apiary for a bee inspection.
If you know that you want to keep bees then we run a 6 week theory course in January every year followed by an 8 week practical course at our Training Apiary. The course is run either during an afternoon or an evening dependent upon your work and home commitment. For more details please complete a contact form – under ‘Contact Us’. We’d really like to help you ‘Help the Bees’
We look forward to hearing from you.
