We would like to make beekeeping accessible to every person. Young children should be accompanied by an adult who is willing to support them through their training and with keeping bees.
Before purchasing bees, we would encourage you to become a member of a local beekeeping Association who will guide and support you. The association will offer a theory course to introduce you to the skills and knowledge required to keep healthy bees. The theory will be followed by a practical course to gain the confidence, skills and experience to safely handle bees.
If you do not have space for a hive then your association will put you in touch with people who have available land or you can get involved with our Association Training Apiary.
If you are interested in attending the Meon Valley theory course starting in February 2019, or the practical course commencing in May 2019 then please contact Jean Frost using the form below. For course details and costs refer to the FAQ’s under ‘Want to Keep Bees’
Please note: As part of the course you will become an associate member of the Meon Valley Beekeepers Association.
