World Bee Day Report 2019
On Sunday 20th May we joined Chawton House to celebrate World Bee Day. Our location was the beautiful walled garden. The sun shone bright and the rain held off, probably due to the fact David brought his ‘special’ umbrella!
As the public enjoyed all things bees, including face painting, bee games, tea and bee decorated cakes they were also treated to our team members knowledge. The visitors of all ages came armed with interesting questions. When viewing the demonstration hive they were amazed how busy the bees were, children enjoyed looking for the brightly marked Queen, who was very active and kept the them entertained.
A special treat for some visitors was an unexpected arrival of a swam, which was quickly taken care of by our experience members. Our beekeepers were given a great opportunity to show off their skills and on perfect day.
